Purple and Silver

It's been exactly a month since I had this idea... And now I finally have time to think about the things I want to! My best friend's favorite colors are silver and purple... so today I found some pictures of how I would make these colors work together. I would add a light lavender color to the palette also... perfect for a spring or summer wedding, I think! Take a look:

This Board is from Snippet and Ink, and is comprised of plum, lavender, and white... close, but no cookie. But it has some elements and overall feel that I like, so we'll start there.

Black tuxes are a must. The vest is where it comes down to choice: silver or purple? Boys that I know would probably choose silver... but I like purple better. :P

Flowers:

My friend's favorite flowers are pansies and violets, very petite, perfect for a nosegay.

Clematis would make beautiful decorations all around the wedding. They're a lighter purple color that you could say has silver tones in it.

If lavender were to be used more, hyacinths are SO fragrant that they would be my first choice. For boutonnieres too, maybe?

Silver or purple? As you can see from the picture above, pale blue-ish lavender works again! I think I might let the girls choose their own shades of purple. Small nosegays of violets like at the top would look gorgeous with the tea-length dresses.

The beginning...

Hello... you can call me EmmaK! :D

About the blog:

I don't actually know what its purpose is, yet. So for now... this blog is mostly for myself, but in case my ramblings and ideas can help someone else in their wedding conquest, I will publish for your sake! ;) I am basically obsessed with weddings. I've never been to one (yet), but they fascinate me. I'm kind of at a crossroads in my young life, and I'm seriously considering a career in wedding planning. There is nothing else that really inspires me or excites me... so it might be worth considering?! I do have somewhat of a background in art, and I guess I have an eye for color. I thrive in situations that are hectic, and I live for organizing. Calendars are my best friend, and when I'm feeling down... I start planning my future. :) Crazy, I know. But I think that I could really like, and be good at, this field. *shrug*

My views:

Anyways, I do have a boyfriend who I have been dating for over 3 years now. So, yes, when I dream of my big day, I do imagine him in the tux. :) I like the celebratory part of marriage, since I'm not a big religious person. Bringing the whole family together to celebrate the union... it should be special. The decorations and everything else just help emphasize the beauty and the happiness that everyone should be radiating that day. I wish I could get married over and over again... I have a tendency to be sad and pessimistic, and to me, weddings are the opposite of that. They bring light and happiness... some of what I need in my life.

My dream wedding:

I'm a Gemini, and one of the most indecisive people on earth. Therefore, I have a lot of trouble deciding what I actually want for my own wedding. Albeit... I do have some time to decide, and there's definitely no ring. :P The one thing I'm certain about is my favorite color: purple. My favorite seasons are summer and fall. The theme that I want is rustic, outdoors, intimate, old-world. Candlelight, trees, flowers, and lots of dessert! I like planning details, so in my free time I try to find those details that would make my day perfect. Since I don't actually have a day in mind, I don't look for things such as caterer or band. Just the basics: dress, bridesmaids, tuxes, flowers, reception, favors. The little things. I have several powerpoints with pictures saved... maybe in future posts I'll try to add my pictures and "color mood" of the moment.

I don't know if anyone's reading... but... happy blogging to me, anyway! :)
